The Paddling Puppeteers have been performing their musical puppet shows across Ontario and Quebec since 1999. A variety of colourful puppets bring to life several stories having to do with the environment. The shows present ideas of how we can take simple steps to preserve and restore Canada's natural heritage.

Song Gardens CD: Now Available!

Song Gardens, recorded live using solar power at the Peterborough Ecology Park

It's The Paddling Puppeteers' new Song Gardens CD — recorded live, with solar power, at the Peterborough Ecology Park! All proceeds from this project support the Park. CDs are available for $20, at Peterborough Green-Up, or from Glen Caradus.

Song Gardens includes 14 original nature-based songs, such as “The Ecology Park ABC Song,” “The Lumberjack Lesson,” “Captain Climate Turns It Off,” and “Paddled Up and Down,” with children's chorus, fiddle, bodhran, guitar and much more.

Jacob of Camp Kawartha and Cool Captain Climate

The Paddling Puppeteers are proud to present a brand new show, all about climate change and sustainable living.

Cool Captain Climate meets Nanook the polar bear in the arctic, and learns about the changes happening in the north due to climate change. He then flies back to southern Ontario and teams up with Jacob of Camp Kawartha to build a nature and sustainability centre.

A Puppeteers Preview

In the year 2000, The Paddling Puppeteers received a grant from the Ontario government to tour 25 Provincial Parks. Ever since, they've taken their show “on the water” in summer, paddling from venue to venue.

Besides their work in parks and with many schools, they've been involved with children's puppet making workshops with groups such as The Federation of Ontario Naturalists and the Cree Nation of Northern Quebec. The Puppeteers' YouTube video offers a preview of what they do.
